The state and district have released information about how grading will work during the closure. Please see the District message here and Principal McCormick’s message here if you have not already reviewed them.
For World History and US History during Online Learning:
Essential assessments will be highlighted in yellow on the weekly schedule and will include weekly review quizzes and writing assignments.
If you earn an Incomplete for this course, you will need to make up the credit at a future time (summer school/credit recovery/retaking the course). It is in your best interest to engage fully in distance learning and earn the credit now!
For World History and US History during Online Learning:
- Students will earn the letter grade they had or higher when the closure began (March 12) as long as they are engaging in the coursework AND submitting all essential assessments, even if their grade in Skyward dips lower during the course of the closure.
- Students can submit missing work from March 12 or earlier to raise their baseline grade.
- Students can raise their grade over the closure by submitting daily assignments and essential assessments to earn a higher letter grade than their baseline March 12 grade.
- Students may be at risk of earning an INCOMPLETE if they:
- Had an F on March 12 and do not submit the essential assessments during the closure
- Had a passing letter grade and do not submit the essential assessments during the closure
- Had a passing letter grade, engages minimally, and the quality of their work drops their grade to below a passing level (less than 60%) for this class during the closure.
